Afraid? Do It Anyway

‍You’re afraid of heights, you’re afraid of public speaking, you’re afraid of singing in front of people…Or maybe you just have a fear that most people don’t share. Every time you let your fears control you, you let go of new experiences and opportunities. You stop growing as a person because you put limits on yourself. Nobody is brave enough to face their fears every single day. It takes practice and determination to keep challenging yourself without giving in to your instincts. However, with practice, courage will become second nature to you. Here are some tips on how to overcome your fears and do it anyway even if they scare you!

Afraid Do It Anyway

Change Your Perspective

When you look at your life from a different perspective, it’ll be easier to let go of your fears. During times when you feel a certain fear creeping up on you, imagine what your life would be like if you overcame that fear. How would your life change once you got over that fear? How would you feel? Having a different perspective will help you let go of the fear and be more grateful for the opportunity to face your fears.

Build Up Your Confidence

Confidence is the key to facing your fears. It gives you the assurance to know that you can do it. Now, I am not saying that you should build your confidence by lying to yourself. You don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not. What I mean is that you should remind yourself of the skills you have. You may think you’re not good enough to do something, but you have to remind yourself that you’re good enough to do it. You have what it takes to get it done. No matter who you are or what skill set you have, there’s always room for improvement. You can always learn something new. You can always get better at what you do.

Help Others and be Kind to Yourself

When you help others, you build up your confidence and learn to let go of your fears at the same time. You give others the opportunity to grow and become better people, too. You can volunteer at a shelter, tutor a child, visit an elderly person, or even help out in a friend’s shop. Helping others will improve your self-confidence and make you realize that you can do more good than you thought you could! Being kind to yourself is just as important as being kind to others. You must be kind to yourself and be patient with yourself every step of the way. You must be gentle and kind as you work towards your goals and dreams. You must be kind to yourself as you learn and grow into the person you want to be.

Commit to Tiny Steps First

If you’ve ever tried to face your fears, then you know that they aren’t something you can just get over with. Facing your fears takes time, determination, and patience. You have to work towards it. There are no shortcuts. There are no quick fixes. You must commit to tiny steps before you commit to huge leaps. Each time you face your fears, you’re making progress. You’re getting one step closer to your dreams. Being able to face your fears is very empowering. It allows you to try new things, explore different options, and discover what you’re capable of.

Don’t Feed the Fear, Feed the Courage

No matter how big the fear is, it’s just a feeling. It’s not real. It’s just there to try to stop you from doing what you want to do. Don’t let your fears consume you. Don’t let your fears control you. Let your courage control the situation instead. Be brave enough to stand up to your fears and tell them they don’t control you! Find the courage to challenge your fears. You can do it!

Take Action

It’s all good and well to talk about facing your fears and conquering your fears, but what do you do? How do you actually go about this? Well, the best way to face your fears is to start small. Don’t just dive in and go for the big things. Start with something very small that you’re afraid of. This way, you don’t have anything to lose and everything to gain. You’ll know where you stand with your fears, and you’ll be able to take it from there. And once you’ve conquered a fear, you’ll know you can do anything. You’ll know that you can face your fears and win. Congratulations, you did it! Now, go out there and do it again!
