Whether you’re in school, college or sitting in an office, staying organized is crucial. Keeping an organized and detailed planner helps ensure you’re always on top of your game.
Unfortunately, many of us don’t know how to get the most out of our planners. It isn’t enough to just buy one; you need to be disciplined about using it too.
Here are some ways you can make the most out of your planner:
Use the Monthly View
Some dates won’t change. Birthdays, anniversaries, dates for midterm exams, project deadlines, etc. can be inserted in the monthly view of the planner. These are important dates that you have to be prepared for.
As the month approaches, make note of important dates on the monthly calendar in your planner. If you want to be really efficient, you can color-code your entries to highlight their importance.
Use the Weekly Plan Section
Take some time out on Sundays to prepare you for the week up ahead. Think of the tasks that need to be done next week. What are things you have to do? What arethings you would like to do?
Write down a basic list of tasks/groups of tasks. It can be anything from doing laundry, sending out an email reminder to the team or submitting the artwork for a project.
Divide the section into two for your personal and professional life if you have to.
Daily Plan Pages
If you’re using your planner the right way then your daily plan pages are going to be packed with detailed lists of tasks to do alongside their deadlines.
To makethe most of your daily plan pages, be very specific of the task at hand and how you’re going to complete it.
School and college students may want to assign a specific time for each task to ensure they stay on track.
As you complete the tasks, you can cross them out.
