Hi, how are you?
For some of you, the school may be off for your kids, and you are spending time chilling with them or running after them. But some of you may still be pushing through with your curriculum during these warmer days.
Whatever the case, I am sure you are having lots of fun spending time with your family.
Recent Stint Of Short-Term Homeschooling
Recently, I had to homeschool my child again due to the pandemic. It was a lot easier this time as I am more used to short-term homeschooling. And I also adopted a more relaxed homeschooling attitude.
I do not try to sit down for long blocks of time with my child to do worksheets and learning. I also split up his learning schedule into shorter blocks of time, which was much easier for him.
If you are struggling with homeschool productivity and time management, please read my free blog here for tips and ideas on managing your time.
Things I Have Been Trying Out As Part Of My New Healthy Lifestyle
My skin seems to be a lot clearer since I started juicing. Although I still get the occasional adult pimple here and there on my face, overall, I notice that my skin feels a lot healthier.
I wouldn’t say that my skin is glowing because I am not one of those whose skin glows and radiates with good health. My skin is rather pale as I stay indoors a lot these days.
But overall, I feel healthier and “cleaner” with my new diet. I will continue to endeavor with my juicing every day and let you know how it goes.
I have also started exercising daily since I had a lapse in my fitness routine a while back due to sheer exhaustion, family and work commitments, etc.
I think I was exercising too hard to the point when my body couldn’t recover in time for my next workout. I felt so tired to the point when I didn’t feel like exercising anymore.
I decided to cut back on my workout and instead do a bit of exercise every day but for a much shorter duration and at a lesser intensity than before.
So far, I am enjoying my shorter workouts and feel better because I get a bit of exercise every day rather than have to rest for more extended periods in between my more intensive workouts.
I have also joined the skipping craze and upgraded my pretty pink skipping rope to a heavy and mean-looking weighted skipping rope that weighs 3lbs!
I am completely in love with my new skipping rope, which gives me such a great workout due to its sheer weight. I feel so strong after each skipping workout!
The only complaint I have is that it is very heavy, haha, but I guess that’s the purpose of a weighted skipping rope!
The Latest Pursuit Of My Relaxing Hobbies
But I have been trying very hard to curb myself by just browsing on Amazon and then adding stuff to my save for later list rather than my shopping cart.
This has worked very well for me in dealing with my online shopping addiction, as I often get so busy later on that I will forget about my impulse additions to my save for later list.
I have also been experimenting more lately with fun recipes, and I have discovered these awesome sites and videos, which make cooking seem so fun and easy:
I have tested out quite a few of their recipes, and I love them!
I do not follow recipes exactly as I will use whatever I have in my pantry to substitute for the ingredients I lack.
Having said that, I love to hoard essentials and more in my pantry, and very often, I have the ingredients called for in the recipes.
One ingredient that I decided to cut back on in my bakes is butter because, generally, I’m not particularly eager to eat very dense and heavy bakes. I prefer lighter food and desserts in general.
I don’t have a sweet tooth, so I prefer baking bread. I cannot live without bread and carbs, and rather than push these yummies out of my diet and lifestyle and make myself feel miserable; I have decided to live with it and moderate my intake of bread and carbs.
Also, too many carbs make me bloat and sleepy, so I limit it to stay more alert and productive throughout the day.
I should remind myself to take pictures of my bakes for you in the future! I am not the sort who actively takes pictures of my cooking creations as I am an extremely lazy cook, and often my creations are pretty ugly, haha. As long as they taste good, I am happy!
Anyway, I have waffled on too much! Let’s get back to pretty printables!
