Mother Daughter Journal For Heart To Heart Sessions
Keeping a mother daughter journal is a great way to bond with your daughter over heart-to-heart sessions. What a better way than to journal down all your feelings, thoughts, and memories together with your daughter? Having a mother daughter journal to flip through when you are older, together with your daughter, is also a great way to relive your beautiful memories and special times together.
You can write about your feelings, things that you enjoy doing together, things that you don’t enjoy, things that you love about each other, things that make you upset about each other, your emotions, and the list goes on. You can journal about anything you like since it’s your special mother daughter journal!
When you journal together with your daughter, it also gives you the chance to express your love and affection for your daughter and your daughter’s love and affection for you as well. Don’t be critical when you journal together. You can learn from each other and grow with each other as you journal. But don’t attack your daughter for things that you don’t like about her. Instead, appreciate her for who she is, and love her for who she is. And understand why certain things about her make you upset.
Approach the taboo subjects between you in an honest but non-aggressive manner. Be gentle with each other’s feelings when you journal together. The last thing you want is to unleash a pandora’s box of pent-up frustrations and feelings when you journal together. And even if you accidentally do that, be careful where you tread with your words. Don’t write things that you may later regret.
You need to be truthful but not hurtful. Rather than say, “I hate the way you dress,” you can try saying, “I love you and the way you love to experiment with your clothing, and I will learn to understand your style, which may be different from mine but represents who you are.”

What Can You Journal About Your Daughter?
In addition to all the journal ideas above, here is a list of things you can journal about your daughter:
- the sweet memories you shared with your daughter while she was growing up, from infancy to now;
- the wonderful times you had together when on your holidays;
- your daughter’s hobbies, skills, and talents that you love;
- her job and career and what your hopes are about them; and
- your hopes and aspirations for your daughter, and the meaningful things you can do in the future to bond as a mother and daughter.
What Can Your Daughter Journal About You?
- the fond memories she had shared with you while she was growing up;
- the awesome times you had together when on your holidays;
- things that she loves about you;
- her hopes for your life as you grow older and slow down life and enjoy the things that you want to do; and
- the fun things you can do in the future to bond as a mother and daughter.
As your daughter grows older, you may find that she starts to embark on the journey that you once took in life, or your paths may diverge, and she lives the life that you once desired. Whatever may be the case, journaling all these things down can help you share your experiences and move toward the future together. This is a great way to bond deeply with your daughter and become her closest friend.
Journaling together with your daughter is a great way to show your dedication to her wellbeing and growth and help her achieve the best life possible. As your daughter journals more with you, she may feel especially close to you and opens up to you about her struggles in life and also her joys on her journey toward becoming a mother herself. If your daughter is feeling down and withdrawing from her loved ones, you can encourage her to journal with you and share with you her problems.
When you journal with your daughter, you are giving her a great way to connect with you. You can relieve the wonderful times you spent as a family playing frisbee in the park, or you can reminisce about that crazy Thanksgiving dinner when everyone got a bit too drunk.
If you play sports with your daughter, you can use your journal to record all the fun sports sessions you had with her. If you are a single mother, you can share with your daughter all your thoughts and feelings about raising her singlehandedly, going through your divorce, and other challenging times. If you are both artistically inclined or love to color in beautiful coloring books, you can jam artistically together and use your journal as an art journal.
Writing in your mother daughter journal is enjoyable, therapeutic and can let your daughter bond in a meaningful way with you. I believe that both of you can share a positive, joyful experience through journaling. You will have the chance to encourage your daughter with your wonderful positive words as she grows into an adult. Your daughter can also gift you her positive words of encouragement as you start to get older and at times feel upset because of your empty nest.
Whatever your situation may be, journaling can be a great way to act as a treasure box of beautiful memories, self-reflections, and lessons learned in life. And also plenty of other precious gifts that cannot be bought with money.
Your daughter may be busy and not always there for you, but the beautiful words and pictures you share in your journal are eternal and can be savored from time to time and passed down from generation to generation.
May you jot down all your beautiful thoughts, feelings, and memories in your special Mother Daughter Journal today.
