However, if the main tasks of food preparation fall mainly on your shoulders, then you may consider doing any of the following to ease the burden on yourself:

1. Order Food Delivery

Beat the crowds by dining at home and indulging in yummy food from the restaurant you love. Or you can order food from a private caterer, who can customize the food according to your palate and theme.

2. Grab Some Readymade Packaged Foods

If you are running short on time and am pulling out your hair in frustration, please relax and calm down. There’s no need to get worked up over your special day and end up being stressed by your Mothers Day menu.

You can buy packaged foods that you can prepare easily in the oven, such as ready-made pizzas, pies, muffins, etc. I came across a list of healthy packaged foods you can eat without feeling guilty. Here it is.

Also, if you love salads, why not buy some salad meals from the supermarkets? Or you could prepare a simple fruit salad using fresh local fruits that are seasonal. These are wonderful and healthy options, which are extremely fuss-free and guilt-free!

3. Whip Up A Feast By Preparing A One-Pot Wonder

Prepare a simple one-pot wonder dish, where you can throw in all the ingredients in a nice big pot and then chuck it into the oven. Here are 90 great one-pot wonder recipes that I love.

I love to prepare one pot wonder meals as I am a lazy cook. Yes, I always cut corners when I cook. I will try my best to make the best meals possible with as little effort as possible because I would rather be doing something else than sloughing it out in the kitchen all day long.

4. Prepare A Fun Meal Together With Your Family

Prepare a meal together with your family so that it is a fun family event in itself. Here are some yummy Mothers Day menu lunch ideas and dinner ideas for you.

Although preparing a meal with your family still requires your heavy involvement, you can split the tasks amongst your family members.

Here are some tasks you can delegate:

  • buying of the groceries;
  • putting together the ingredients required, such as weighing the ingredients needed and putting them into bowls;
  • each family member prepares a course in the Mothers Day menu; and
  • washing up after the meal.

5. Have A Picnic

A picnic outing for Mother’s Day is also a great way to unwind with your family. Items for your picnic baskets are easier to prepare and can be made up of store-bought items like fresh fruits, salads, healthy snacks, etc. This saves you time on food preparation and also allows you to enjoy the outdoors.

As with any task you take on, don’t feel stressed by it. Instead, enjoy the moment and journey. Break down your task into smaller tasks you can easily handle or delegate. Yes, you don’t have to do everything yourself. It’s ok to ask for help.

It is your special day, and there are no hard and fast rules about it. You get to make the rules! Thus, your Mothers Day menu can be as elaborate as you want it to be or as fuss-free and straightforward as you wish it.

Perhaps your meal is not as yummy as you intended it to be, or you cannot purchase those unique ingredients you covet, it doesn’t matter. The most important thing is for you to have fun in the process.

Although Mother’s Day has become very commercial these days, it is still a meaningful and memorable holiday to remind people of the great roles that mothers play in nurturing and taking care of their families.  Thus, it is definitely worth a celebration!

May you have the most fun preparing your Mothers Day Menu!
